Axiom 67: Get Out of Your Damn Comfort Zone

"We find comfort among those who agree with us - growth among those who don't.
-Frank A. Clark

"Don't make friends that are comfortable to be with. Make friends who will force you to level yourself up." Thomas J. Watson

The people in the world that are successful are the people that pushed themselves out of their comfort zone. It is hard to achieve anything great without a little discomfort beforehand.

Getting out of your comfort zone doesn't necessarily mean doing something risky. Every time you choose to actively work on a hobby you are pushing yourself outside of your comfort zone. While it is much easier to watch TV or do something else equally as mindless, doing something that requires effort can be much more rewarding. Actively engaging in activities often forces you out of your comfort zone. It forces you to learn, and as you learn you grow as a person.

Sometimes, however, getting out of your comfort zone does require you to do something risky. This world ignores those who do not exert themselves and rewards those who take risks. That's why CEOs of start-up companies can become very wealthy while assembly line workers will always remain in the working class.

Push yourself outside of your comfort zone, and push yourself to grow into something bigger and better.
